After Selling out o2 Academy Brixton, The Compozers supported Davido at his historical O2 arena headline concert. The show is the talk of the town across the Afrobeats scene home and abroad, with Davido breaking records as the youngest African act to have a Sold Out show at the O2.

Apart from the full cast of DMW acts – Mayorkun, Dremo, Peruzzi, and more – showing up, Davido also had international stars like Atlanta-based rapper, Russ Diemon, along with Jamaican star, Popcaan, gracing the stage to the amazement of the thousands in attendance.

Joojo Addison is an up-and-coming Ghanaian recording artist who presented his debut, this dope afrobeats cut titled “Guy Man” as his entry for Mr Eazi’s #Empawa100 contest.

After it was posted on social media, the video clip of the song became an instant hit, which led to Joojo releasing the full song on SoundCloud, which amassed over 20k plays in less than 48 hours, and 30k the following day.

Production credits for this contemporary afrobeats joint go to Lexyz, with additional vocals by Asi Renie. The video was directed by Andy Madjitey. Check out the visuals, and download the joint below.

Overview Of The Official Video For Balance By Timaya

Papichulo aka Timaya has been teasing his forthcoming EP titled “Chulo Vibes” for a while now. The Nigerian music industry mainstay has built anticipation around the body of work due out on the 8th of February 2018.

To stoke the ember, he has decided to put the first single off the EP. The tune is entitled “Balance”, it has a feel good effect to it. Timaya sings about his struggles when he started out as a singer with barely nothing and how far his dreams has brought him now.

The visuals was directed by Unlimited LA and it sees Timaya in a party mood with cameo appearances from Larry Gaaga, King Perryy, and Boybreed.

Seun Kuti To Perform At The 61st Grammy Awards

Seun Kuti has just been announced as one of the performers for the upcoming 61st annual Grammy awards.

The son of Afrobeats legend, Fela Kuti is also a nominee at the event slated for 10th February 2019.  Below is a the statement by the Grammy Awards. . .

The 61st GRAMMY Awards will start off with sizzle as the lineup for the GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony has been revealed, led by Mr. Boombastic himself, GRAMMY winner and current nominee Shaggy as host. The prelude to Music’s Biggest Night will also feature performances by current nominated singer/songwriter Snatam Kaur, trumpeter Craig Morrisand dance duo Sofi Tukker.

Nigerian Afrobeat artist Seun Kuti and Malian singer/songwriter Fatoumata Diawara will also perform together, and Ángela Aguilar, Aida Cuevas and Natalia Lafourcade will unite for the first time ever to perform “La Llorona,” a Mexican folkloric classic all three artists have recorded during their career.
