Former Arsenal's manager, Arsene Wenger has continued to speak on the proposal of hosting the FIFA World Cup every two years. He said the idea is to help shape the football calendar, and it's not about him but the good of football.

The French man spoke about this in an interview with the BBC. Wenger's idea has been frowned on by some major key players in the sports, most notably UEFA.

The European football body released a statement on Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021, explaining why the idea will kill the beautiful game of football.

I'm not on an ego trip. I've been asked to help to shape the calendar tomorrow. I consult the whole world, according to reports from his interview with the BBC.

It's not about me, it is about the proposal to make football better, clearer, more simple and more meaningful to the world. I was a long-time manager at Arsenal and I felt always that the separation between international competition and club competition was not good enough.

The risk is to make football better, and I'm ready to take that gamble. Some people have judged only based on every two years of the World Cup and it was more emotional because we've all grown up in that cycle and I can understand that.

But many responses who were negative came out because they had not completely seen the whole concept. This concept, of course, every two years a World Cup makes only sense if you see the whole proposal and if you regroup the qualifiers.

Wenger is currently the head of FIFA's global development of football. He was appointed into the office in 2019, a year after he left his position as the coach of Arsenal after 22 years.

The fierce rapper's album is a follow-up to his album 'Black Habits' project, which earned him two Grammy nominations last year for the Best New Artist and Best Rap Album categories.

D Smoke, who hails from Inglewood, California, was on Nigerian sensational singer and songwriter Fireboy's last album 'Apollo' on the first song titled 'Champion'. A classic tune, it's not surprising that the duo decided to collaborate on the rapper's new project.

Ole was speaking in a press conference ahead of the team's early kick-off against Aston Villa. According to reports from Sky Sports, the manager believes Ronaldo will be at the top of his game till he reaches 40.

The 36-year-old has scored four goals in three games on his second return to Old Trafford and he recently broke the record of the most international goals scored by an individual.

I wouldn't be surprised if he still played when he was 40, not at all, because of the way he looks after himself. That's the key to it and, of course, some genes. There must be some genes as well, some DNA in there.

He has put every single ounce of energy and effort into becoming the player he is and has been, so he deserves every single little plaudit that he gets for his physical state.

What's more impressive is when you have achieved as much as he has, he's still as hungry. His mentality is still absolutely spot-on, and that's a desire to form inside that he's going to keep going until his head says, no, I've given everything now.

Hopefully, it will last a few more years. Linford Christie was quite an age when he won his gold as well, so age is never a problem.

Ronaldo joined Manchester United from Juventus for £25million. Supporters of the Red Devils will hope the Portuguese will continue in this fine form. This will boost their chances of winning titles both in domestic and on the continent.

After defeating Senegal, Nigeria's women's basketball team has advanced to the finals of the ongoing Afrobasket women's championship.

Nigeria's women's basketball team, popularly known as D'Tigress, will now face Mali in the final of the 2021 Afrobasket women's championship after defeating Senegal.

According to Punch, D'Tigress will face Mali in the final match on Sunday, September 26th 2021 in Yaounde, Cameroun after they defeated the Senegalese team, who are 11-time champs, 73-63, on Friday, September 24th at the Palais Polyvalent des Sports in a thrilling encounter.

Mali defeated the host team, Cameroon, 52-51, in the semifinals, and the Nigerian team will have the opportunity to become the second team (after Senegal) to win the title for the third time in a row and the fifth time in their history.

The Nigerian team in the semi-final match started the game on a bright note, dominating the first quarter, 22-11. They followed it up with a winning second quarter and third, 23-20 and 15-13, respectively. However, the Senegalese side fought in the fourth quarters to win 19-15, but it wasn't enough to win the game.

Friday's victory makes it the third consecutive time the Nigerian team will advance to the final in the history of the competition.

Veteran Nigerian rapper, Olamide has told CNN's African Voices that giving opportunities to young artists is his way of giving back to society.

Speaking to CNN's African Voices, Olamide said that giving young artists a chance to express themselves also makes him feel fulfilled. The video was shared via Instagram on Saturday, the 25th of September 2021.

Asides from his lyrical prowess and amazing discography, Olamide is also known for giving a lot of opportunities to artists that are on the rise. This has been going on for years right from the establishment of his YBNL record label. The label has churned out a lot of talents over the years, the likes of Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold, Chinko Ekun, Lyta, Davolee, and even more recently Fireboy DML.
